Olivia Lupia for City Council
I am running because I am committed to being a true, reflective voice for what the people of this district want, not what the rest of the city, county, or state tell us we should want. I want to be your City Councilmember who will listen to the citizens of Colorado Springs as we face our challenges. For these reasons, I am asking for the privilege of serving as your next District 3 City Councilmember.
We are all aware of the challenges facing our city, challenges which for the past year have been dominated by COVID causing many businesses to struggle or fail and families to go without a paycheck through no fault of their own. I believe the City Council cannot avoid making tough decisions, taking a bold stand, or support positions that prevent us from collectively moving past these times. The need to reopen our city so our economy can recover while ensuring people remain safe is a top priority, and I want to be part of that solution.
In conversation with District 3 residents and neighbors, I hear an increasing amount of pushback against City Council programs and their implementation. People are unhappy with their current level of representation and are desirous of change. I believe I can be an answer to that desire, and I want to engage in the hard work that will allow us to continue to make Colorado Springs a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family.
I am here to listen and connect with you, the true voices of our district, and I believe I am the right person to be your next City Council District 3 representative. To learn more about me, to volunteer, to donate, and for updates, I encourage you to visit my official campaign website at www.voteolivialupia.com. Meet Olivia Lupia
Olivia Lupia has been a Colorado Springs resident since 2000 when her family moved from Florida to escape the heat, humidity, and bugs. Raised here in beautiful Colorado Springs, Olivia carries fond memories of splashing in Uncle Wilber’s Fountain downtown, enjoying the annual Frontier Days and Giant Pumpkin Festival, playing lacrosse and field hockey at Cheyenne Mountain High School, and “Yee-Hawing” at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo.
Skiing since she was five, Olivia and her family enjoy hitting the slopes each year, one of her very favorite parts of Colorado culture. Olivia is an avid reader, Pride and Prejudice and Little Women among her favorites, and is currently into Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp saga.
When she was 12, Olivia and her family were hit head-on by a drunk, stoned driver at approximately 100 miles per hour while returning from a ski trip. While she considers it a miracle simply to have her life and the lives of her father and brother, the resulting trauma led to years of hospitalizations, experimental medical procedures and medications, and traumatic brain injury that left the Lupias questioning if Olivia would ever walk again or be able to have a normal life. Now, Olivia is fully healed and her triumphant spirit, coupled with her optimism and idealism, has gifted her with a zest and passion for living life to its fullest. She attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles and pursues performing arts through music and acting.
Through all her adversity and triumph, Olivia has developed the strength of character and grit that she credits solely to her Savior and Lord. She aims to bring all these attributes with her to City Council as the next District 3 representative. Olivia thanks you for your support and your vote.
